As humans we all have one thing in common. We are on a journey. For a lot of us our journey has had a lot of moments that we would have not chosen to be part of. Twists and turns that lead to heartaches and experiences we wish were not part of our story. As long as we are still breathing our stories have a chance to change and be different. There still may be chapters that bring heartache and sadness but there is still hope for chapters that can bring joy and new beginnings.
Life's Journey -G- is in honor of both those parts in my life. For my two children in heaven, Lucy and Judah and for the four paws (Gina) who not only helped me as I processed their loss but she gave me space and opportunities for new chapters to begin.
Dogs have been a tremendous part of my recovery journey, especially golden retrievers. My passion is to help give opportunities for others to have quality goldies that can bring countless chapters of joy, peace, strength, laughter, and growth into your journey.
It may seem odd to think of Hope being a four legged word, but I have seen it time and time again as I have done animal assisted learning. Time and time again the space animals provide can make a tremendous difference in someone's life. My day job is working at a school and supporting students and staff as needed. I had a vision of how I wanted to use dogs to help others and as always along the way God has refined my path. I will never forget the morning I received a call asking to bring one of my puppies to the school as one of the students found out the night before that his mom had passed away. Since that day I have brought a puppy to school every day. Currently she is in training to be a certified therapy dog.
When I was 15 I lost my mom to cancer and remembered laying on my floor next to my dog that night and several nights following that loss as I didn't know what to do. When words failed there were four paws that were never far from me and sat with me through so many emotions. She gave me a non judgmental space that was deeply needed. So many kids are going through things we don't know about and a bundle of joy that comes to you can help in ways we will never know about. To be able to offer a child with that same life changing experience that I had when I was younger is something I will never take lightly. It is an honor and joy to help these little vessels of light and hope go into the world and make it a better place.
I can't think of a better breed than a golden for this task. Their joy, sweetness, playful personality that is so quick and they will easily out smart and train you if you are not careful! They just help brighten any day.
We have a big vision as there are so many needs in the world. Our heart is to help as many people as we can with either taking our dogs to bring hope and joy to those around us. Or by providing puppies to the right homes where stories will be full of so many fun adventures. It is never easy raising a puppy but I promise you with a little time and effort, you will be amazed at the sweetest four legged being that could ever share life with you. There is something special about a Goldie and we can't wait for you to experience it as well!
Our passion runs through everything we do each and every day. That passion fuels us to grown in knowledge and wisdom and to apply all the lessons learned to make our breeding program and therapy services better each and every day. We are far from perfect but know we will strive to make the world a better place four paws at a time.
This website would not be complete without thanking the ones who have invested and poured so much into me to start this venture. To my beloved friends who have walked this journey with me and have supported me through the many ups and downs to get here thank you. You are and will forever be part of this. I could never do it on my own and I am thankful I don't have to. Thank you God for all the ways you have provided for all our needs. Without you none of this would be possible. There is an endless amount of gratitude for the gifts you have given and how you have allowed part of your creation to help others. May we reflect that in all we do.
Please feel free to reach out to ask any questions! We are happy to help to the best of our ability and if we are unable to help we will try to find someone that can!
