Premium Golden Retrievers

We specialize in breeding high-quality golden retrievers known for their friendly temperaments and excellent health. Our dogs are suitable for families, therapy work, and service roles. Ensuring you receive a loyal, healthy, and well-socialized companion is of great importance to us!.

Why Golden Retrievers?

Golden Retrievers have remained ranked in the top three spots for most popular dog breeds for many years. You may wonder why the popularity?

Goldens are known for their exceptionally friendly, gentle, and intelligent temperament. They are highly trainable, eager to please, and energetic. They are loyal and thrive on companionship. They are ideal in families, homes with pets, and as service dogs.

They are sociable and thrive in environments where there are other animals and strangers, making them ideal for families with active lifestyles.

Goldens are highly intelligent and eager to please, making them easy to train for obedience tasks, hunting companions, field dogs, agility work, and as service dogs..

If you have an active life style and or love being by water you have found your perfect four legged companion. Goldens thrive on exercise and enjoy walks, running, swimming, or playing fetch.

If you are looking for a breed that maintains their playful and puppyish demeanor into adulthood, look no further, as these loyal outgoing and energetic fluff balls never lose the wonder and joy of life. Every day is full of joy and happiness with a Goldie as they have an innocent and joyful view of life.

.

You have learned a little about their personality, now it’s time to look at physical traits and care of this beloved breed:

The Golden Retriever is know for their glossy golden coat that gives the breed it’s name.

The AKC recognizes light golden, golden, and dark golden as standard. No matter the depth of gold (English Cream coats appear almost white), Goldens always carry a “red/yellow” gene.

English Creams are often called white, but is really a pale cream that is often seen in European Bloodlines.

Light Golden can be defined as a pale, yellow-gold color that is lighter than the standard golden but richer than the English Cream

Golden is the iconic medium-gold yellow shade.

Dark Golden is a deep rich or lustrous golden shade that is a honey or light caramel color.

As with the English Cream there are also Red Goldens that have a deep reddish-orange or mahogany shade that is a common natural variation often seen in working lines.

One item to note as you pick out your puppy. Puppies often change color and usually darken along their ears and back as they grow into their adult coat.

Goldens have short floppy ears that are feathered. Their eyes are friendly, intelligent, and soulful. They are often medium sized dogs weighing from 55-75 pounds and are 23-24 inches tall. On average Goldens live 10-12 years. They also have a double coat that they shed once or twice a year. Aside from the heavy shedding time they shed moderately on a regular basis. If you are not a fan of dog hair this may not be the right breed for you. A bonus is Goldens are not know to be big droolers.

Some main items to know about caring for a Golden Retriever is they will need brushed regularly, they are prone to ear infections due to their floppy ears that reduce airflow. You will also have to have a lot of strength to resist those soulful eyes that guilt you into giving them extra treats or make you question if you already fed them dinner as they are prone to obesity.
